Op de lente equinox en volle maansnacht komen we samen op De Weegbree voor een Temazcal ceremonie.
Dit is het punt van balans tussen dag en nacht, Noord en Zuid, De zon komt exact op in het oosten en gaat neer in het westen.
Een Temazcal is een rituele zweethut die afstamt van de voorouderlijke volkeren van de aarde. Het woord Temazcal (Temazcalli) komt uit het Nahuatl (Aztec) en betekent “huis van hitte”. Tijdens de Temazcal ceremonie komen we samen in community, met onze naasten, om te genieten van de warmte in de donkere hut. We nemen de tijd om te bidden via intentie, zang en stilte, en roepen de wijsheid en genezende krachten van de elementen aan. Zo zetten we kracht bij in ons leven, vieren we de terugkomst van de lente, en maken we contact met al wat is onder het wake van de volle maan;
We bouwen een kleine hut met takken, die de herinnering aan de bomen dragen. Een ronde buik, donker en warm. We steken een Vuur aan dat de herinnering aan de zon en zijn helende krachten draagt. We verwarmen Stenen en gaan de Temazcal (de hut) binnen. Deze stenen, die de herinnering aan het zaad van de vader dragen, bemesten de buik van de Moeder. Op deze stenen zetten we aromatische planten en water neer, om op deze manier de zegen van de Natuur, onze Moeder te ontvangen.
Deze hut wordt begeleid door Matrin Firket in volgens de traditie van de Fuego sagrado de Itzitaclan. Martin is temazcalero in deze traditie.
PRAKTISCH:

17.00: welkom op de weegbree, Aansteken heilig vuur
18.00: Laatste aankomsttijd, instructies en het zetten van onze intenties
19.00: Binnegaan hut
23:00 Einde hut, we doen ons best om rond deze tijd te stoppen zodat ieder nachtrust kan hebben tegen de volgende dag.
00.00: Einde vuur en opruim
Bijdrage:
Sliding scale: Tussen 33 en 55 euro. Als deze prijs een obstakel is, zeg het ons.
Deze bijdrage wordt gebruikt voor de verdere uitbouw van ons waterzuiveringsproject @ De Weegbree
CARSHARING:
We moedigen mensen aan om samen te rijden. Als je op zoek bent naar een rit of zelf een rit aan te bieden hebt, mail ons en/of plaats een bericht op Facebook via deze link.
Meenemen:
Comfortabele kleding in natuurlijke stof. Voor de heren: short en voor de dames: pareo of lichte jurk. (Als je wilt weten waarom we niet naakt zijn, vraag het ons gerust op de dag van de Temazcal.)
Twee handdoeken
Water en thee zijn aanwezig. (Zorg ervoor dat je de dagen voor de Temazcal voldoende water drinkt om hoofdpijn te voorkomen.)
Een smakelijk gerecht voor de potluck (zie uitleg hieronder).
Extra:
Zwangere vrouwen kunnen vanaf de derde zwangerschapsmaand de Temazcal binnengaan. Gelieve ons in te lichten bij registratie.
Gelieve bij registratie te vermelden als u een speciale medische situatie heeft.
De hut zal in het Engels gegeven worden, met mogelijkheid tot vertaling naar het Nederlands.

POTLUCK:
Na de hut houden we een potluck maaltijd. Daarom vragen we aan iedereen om een eigen gerecht mee te nemen (liefst een hoofdgerecht). Ieders gerecht wordt nadien op tafel gezet en we genieten samen van een heerlijke maaltijd.

On the spring equinox en full moon night we come together to share a temazcal @ De Weegbree.
This is the point of balance between day and night, between North and South, it is also the day when the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. (precisely 🙂
A Temazcal is a ritual sweat lodge that descends from the ancestral peoples of the earth. The word Temazcal (Temazcalli) comes from the Nahuatl (Aztec) and means “house of heat”. During the Temazcal ceremony we gather in community, with our closed ones, to enjoy the warmth of the dark lodge. We pray through intention, song and silence, and invoke the wisdom and healing powers of the elements – and by doing so: strengthen our lives, celebrate rerturn of spring and invite ourselfs to this whole space under the full moon that watches over us.
We build a small hut with branches, which hold the memory of the trees. A round belly, dark and warm. We light a Fire that holds the memory of the sun and its healing powers. We heat Stones and enter the Temazcal (the hut). These stones, which hold the memory of the seed of the father, fertilize the belly of the Mother. On these stones we pour aromatic plants and water, in order to receive the blessing of Nature, our Mother.
The Temazcal is held by Martin Firket in the tradition of the Sacred Fire of Itzachilatlan. Martin is temacalero under this tradition.

PRACTICALITIES:

17.00: welcome to the garden, lighting the fire
18:00: Setting intentions and instructions for the temazcal, latest arrival time
19.00: Entering the lodge
23.00: End temazcal
At the end of the Temazcal, we share a potluck meal.

Contribution:
Sliding scale : between 33 and 55 euro, if this contribution is an obstacle, tell us.
The contribution will be used for our water purification project @ De Weegbree.
Carsharing:
We encourage people to drive together. If you are looking for a ride or have a ride to offer, email us and/or leave a message on Facebook via this link.
Bring along:
Comfortable clothing for sweating in natural fabric if possible. For the men: shorts and for the women: pareo or light dress. (If you would like to know why we don’t enter naked, feel free to ask us on the day of the Temazcal.)
Two towels
Water and tea are provided. (Make sure to drink enough water the days before the Temazcal to avoid headache.)
A tasty dish for the potluck (see explanation below).
Extra:
Pregnant women can enter the Temazcal from the third month of pregnancy. Please inform us when you register.

After the sweat lodge, we gather for a potluck meal. That is why we ask everyone to bring their own dish (preferably a main course) so we can share a delicious meal together.
